Welcome to Benetas, one of Victoria’s foremost not-for-profit aged care services providers.

Founded in 1948 by the Anglican Diocese of Melbourne, Benetas has a long and proud history of caring for the elderly in our community.

The name Benetas derives from Latin words that mean, “a good age of life”. Our name reflects our caring spirit and the special way we value older people in the community. It also reflects our belief that ageing and aged care should be the best possible experience for everyone.

Benetas is committed to caring for all older people in need of care, irrespective of their religious, financial, lifestyle or cultural background.

Benetas is made up of:

  • 1,000+ staff, who work together with
  • 600 volunteers, to provide individualised care for
  • 2,000 older people, their families and carers.

We operate an integrated network of specialist residential care facilities, day and overnight respite centres, dementia specific and palliative care services and an extensive community care program that provides care and support to those who wish to continue living in their own homes. Benetas services are available across metropolitan Melbourne, the Mornington Peninsula and regional Victoria.

At Benetas, we understand the importance of family and community connection and actively listen to what older people, their families and carers want and expect from an aged care service.

Benetas has a commitment to excellence and the care and well being of older Australians. When you read through our website you will see that our sights are firmly focused on providing the quality of care and support that older people need to experience a good age of life.
